Nearly complete availability of mission-critical applications is a must today. The background database systems must therefore be able to quickly detect failure and resume operation in the shortest possible time in case of failure of hardware or entire sites.
With Db2 HADR such a high availability can be realized with low resource expenditure in a short time:
- HADR is fully integrated with Db2
- A cluster manager (TSA / MP) to control the cluster is included in the scope of Db2 (Linux and AIX platforms)
- The construction and operation of a HADR system involves a minimum of personnel
The documents for the workshop are in German and on the most up-to-date Db2 stand – by means of exercises the theory is practically implemented.
Database administrators responsible for the availability of the database system.
In this hands-on course, participants will learn about the architecture and configuration of Db2 HADR, as well as implementation and operation practices. You will then be able to build and operate a Db2 HADR environment yourself
The topics at a glance:
- HADR architecture
- Installation, configuration and commands
- Automatic Client Reroute
- Monitoring and special operations
- problem cases
- Read on standby
- Multiple standby
- HADR and Tivoli System Automation (TSA)
good knowledge and experience with db2 administration.
