Description:

This workshop will provide the necessary skills to set up and operate a Db2 LUW database management system. This includes the architecture and installation of the product, the design and creation of databases and the basic knowledge of backup / restore, maintenance, permissions and problem analysis.

The documents for the workshop are in German and on the most up-to-date Db2 stand – by means of exercises the theory is practically implemented.

For participants with knowledge of other relational DBMS we offer this workshop with a further day to deepen individual topics. Further information can be found here .

Objective:

The participants will get to know the concepts of the database management system Db2 in this workshop. The use of the existing tools and commands is practiced in the numerous practical blocks.

Afterwards the participants will be able to set up and expand a Db2 for LUW environment independently, to carry out administration activities and to independently expand their knowledge on the basis obtained.

 

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of relational databases, SQL and operating systems (Linux / UNIX, Windows)
